Worcester East Middle School Reviews

It's going to be a shame to leave Worcester East Middle. Everytime I think of the thought of leaving, I get butterflies in my stomach! I've gotten used to all of the students, and bonded with my teachers in the past two years. I'm in the eighth-grade, third floor, A-Team. In 7th-grade, I looked up to the 8th-graders. I referred to them as super-cool-eighth-graders. Now as an 8th- grader, occasionally teased a 7th-grader. I'm not cruel about it; it's all in fun! But next year the 7th graders will take the present 8th grader's place. It's a never ending cycle. WEM has its bad crowds. If you mind your own buisness, they will leave you alone. I was so scared on the first day of 7th-grade. I can remember the principal calling us to the Auditorium of August 2006. I was so close to crying! After 2 weeks, I settled in.

I currently an 8th-grader who attends WEMS. I am on the thirdfloor, A-Team. I am an honor student with good grades. I get all A's exept for Spanish class... The Spanish teacher is wonderful, by far, the best teacher I have ever had, but learning a new language is one of my weaknesses. Despite my A's in the other classes, there's always room for improvment. I like most of my teachers. I have no friends at school, bcause friends are a waste of time, Why not read a book instead? That's a good subsitute!' Oh, that is my most comical joke I have ever said. Get it? Subsitute teacher? I resent going to school everyday. I mean not to affend teachers, staff, or anyone with high authority, but the school is a terrible learning environment! I want to learn, but I can't with the wild students. It's a very unruly group. No discipline. No morals or ethics.

Im a student at worcester east middle and i have to say for my first year here was pretty scary because worcester east middle had such a horrible reputation but slowly its getting its way back up. The teachers are great and no. The kids are not scary and they wont beat oyu up every 20 seconds. Thats a lie. So if your a parent and your scared about bringing your kid there dont be from a students perspective its great (but it has its drama moments). Its clean and you learn...And its not like your there all day.

I am a student at Worcester east middle school. I love it there. So far I have been in honors 7th grade Scholars team(Amazing Teachers!) and Im in 8th grade honors now Pheonix team,(Great teachers!) I love that school. The teachers are great, I have a lot of friends and it is an overall great school, no matter what it's said to be like. The staff and kids are great!

I am a teacher at WEMS and have been for the past 6 years. When I started teaching it was quite bad and have seen it turn around in the time I have been there. The teachers are very well qualified and the current administration is excellent. Like all middle schools, you have your handful of challenging students but overall the students are good. The teachers and the administration really care about the students and are working very hard to change the reputation of the school. It is not what it once was.

I attended this school and spent very little time actually learning in class, to say the least.

I like this school. My daughter can always teach me something new every day she comes home.

I was a student in East Middle School it was great I had tons of friends and everyone was nice The teachers are the best I mean they were. Some of the art and music teachers even let you stay after to do art projects and let you finish work you missed or just want to do over.I love, that school and so did my mom she had said that the teachers would have a meeting planned when the parents had a day good time or day you could always reschedule. To end this review I have only one thing to say hope your child goes to East Middle School!!!

I am a student currently attending east middle. The school and teachers are grate. The building is not in good shape but it is still a grate school. The teachers are very understanding and helpfull. They will do anything for you if you need help. The other kids are grate too. You just have 2 get along with the right people and you will be fine. When it comes to fights or food fights they are strict. This school is the best school ive ever been to so far in my life.

I am a substitute teacher at WEMS. I've seen many schools and comparatively WEMS has a much higher percentage of minority and disadvantaged students. The teachers at WEMS are very supportive and try as best they can. The students are often disruptive and it is hard to teach. However there are many students who are able to focus and learn and will be well prepared for high school.

I am a student of Worcester East Middle School. The teachers at WEMS are great. They help you and are fun. They are understandable. The students are nice too once you get to know them. Our building may need help but our personalities don't.

My daughter attended 11 years ago --she dropped out. Too bright for the work, her teachers refused to place her where she belonged. Since leadership is still lacking, and teachers cannot or will not create the positive learning environment adolescents deserve in this stage of life, WEM will continue to be a 'Minimum Security Facility.' Its only function is to house future citizens, get funding, and subsist until the wrecking ball comes. Still as formidable as it was in the 80's, there are penitentiaries more attractive. This in itself is a problem. Perhaps the outlying neighborhoods have an effect as well. This school is a mirage. To students (or captives), it is a holding pen bent on perpetuating educational neglect with perfunctory disciplinary actions meant to serve documentation purposes only. I believe the few who manage to graduate do so with little or no competency for a rewarding career.
