The Baby And The Bath Water is the debut solo record of Vermont-based indie rock artist, Julia Josephine Slone. This outstanding 2010 release is a playful epitaph on the rollercoaster ride from 20 to 30, featuring Slone’s powerful vocals and dazzling vocal and instrumental arrangements. Each of the ten tracks (7 originals, two originally arranged covers, and one traditional folk song) brings out a different aspect of Slone’s broad range of stylistic influences, from pop, rock, reggae, disco and soul, to swing, Dixieland, folk and old-school country. Slone brings joy and a sense of humor into her seriously-crafted songwriting, resulting in material that is remarkably smart, moving, and fun. Julia lives with her husband on their southern Vermont farm, in the solar-powered house they built by hand. Not much to say here, I'm a guy who's living in Worcester, Mass right now. I'm from San Antonio, TX. I suppose a bio needs to sound different though, so here's the version that my manager wrote: "Originally hailing from San Antonio, Joshua Grohman's sound is as eclectic as his hometown's culture. Combining enthralling guitar melodies, an instantly recognizable voice, and chord progressions that push the envelope of how a song should sound, Joshua dares his listeners to hate him only to find themselves enraptured and entranced as they enter a new level of enlightenment. En other words, listen to Joshua Grohman, you won't be disappointed." So there you go..choose for yourself who to believe. Me, or the man that I pay to say good things about me...who doesn't actually exist.
