This is the only museum in the hemisphere dedicated to arms and armor. It is four floors tall with everything from stone age hammers to medieval lances. It also has a library with many books you won't find anywhere else on the topic. They run many programs, which are definatly worth going to.

We took a day trip here with our grandchildren and they really liked it. There was a very good lecture on armory that traced its history. There is also an interactive area where the kids can try on helmets. Worth a visit.

All the years I lived in Worcester I took for granted the Higgins Armory. Let me tell you it will simple amaze you. If you have never been, I would highly recommend visiting the museum. It is the largest display of armor and arms I have ever seen from Medieval and Renaissance times .
